If you really could save daylight
Store it somehow, preserve it for later
What would you do with yours?
Sitting there in the dark
A faint smile on your face
Suddenly beginning to glow
The air around you lights up in response
As if it has always been there
As if it never left
Like there was no loneliness
No tears
No time at all had passed between
Some life had gone out of it since then
The elasticity succumbed to the strain
Finally loosening its grip on the air around it
Falling into soft folds
Collapsing in on itself a little bit
The beauty is undeniable
But the life has gone out of the very tips
And soon the stems
Then the roots will fail
Disconnecting from everything that feeds it
The flower begins to wither
Returning to itself
What it once gave freely
Some glow of hope
A pollen of Dreamtime
Now crossing from fingertip to palm
In one electrical shock
Whose circuit never completes
I fell through you to the other side
Now that I am sure
The world is new and I am in it
Moving through this place I find I am not alone
You are with me now, everywhere
And I am with you
It changes things, this one knowing
The difference feels like home
I walk through it seeing for the first time
Things I have only felt, blindly, groping forward
I see them now
And they see me
Hello
It’s like I woke up for the first time today
And suddenly I was me
very nice :)
