’til death do us part

I want to kill you he said.
It ends the way it begins she replied.
I am going to try to kill you.
That sounds fun.
I will jump out at you when you least expect it.
I look forward to it.
I will not kill you.
No?
I will be there when you die.
That is an entirely different matter.
Yes.
I accept the challenge.
Are you prepared to defend yourself?
I have no intention of defending anything.
You will not fight?
We are fighting right now.
I am never angry.
And I am never dead.
It sounds like this could go on for quite some time.
Yes, I would like that.

You make it sound so threatening.
Do you like that?
Yes I do, very much.
Then I will kill you.
It ends as it begins.

Something I have to Do

I need to go there
To look you in the face
I am not sure why
What it will accomplish

I do not know how I will feel
What I will say
and that is frightening
but I must go there
it is just something I have to do

Playing at a free show for cardholders
At least Justice is free
If it’s not what we thought
What I wanted

There really is just us
Melly mellowed
And barely indignant
But the look is good
All black leather and big rings
The kind that pack a punch
Leave a mark   Continue reading

Furniture piled to the roof
Purposeless placeless past clutters every surface
Clogged flow of items stagnate
Rigid in its structureless piles
Holding space for nothing
Keeping time with no one
Towering over me as I shiver unable to get warm
To get your attention
To get home   Continue reading

Like Adults Do

by Peggy Roth

There is something between us
Some force or reaction radiates
Pulsing in the air
We both feel it

Animals want to enter into the space between our bodies
Children gravitate to stand between us
Not to keep us apart
To feel it too   Continue reading
